No, we don’t actually sweep beans off the floor. But this blend was born from the spirit of those early Alchemy days — when every roast, spill, and experiment taught us something new. Back then, “Floor Sweeper” was whatever was left on the table at the end of a long roasting day. Now, it’s a deliberate, evolving snapshot of everything we’ve been working with lately.
Flavor Notes
Expect deep cocoa richness backed by warm vanilla and dried fruit. Depending on the roast, it can lean lighter and more fruit-forward, or darker with hints of rum cake, nuts, and spice. There’s still that rustic backbone that made the original famous — but this one’s no accident. It’s the sum of everything we’ve learned.
Hot Brew: Use 4 tablespoons per 8 oz of boiling water. Steep for about 5 minutes and press (French press or drip both work fine). Enjoy straight, or add milk, cream, or sugar to taste.
Cold Brew: Combine 70 g (about 2.5 oz) of Floor Sweeper with 400 g (about 14 oz) of cold water in a jar. Shake well and refrigerate 24–48 hours, then filter and enjoy.
This isn’t “hot chocolate.” Brewed cocoa is its own thing — bold, aromatic, and deeply satisfying in its honesty.
